The Roblox Gambling Lawsuit Explained: Bloxflip, RBXFlip and RBLXWild (2026 Update)
2026-10-04 · 7 min read · Roblox
Since 2023, Roblox has been fighting a class action that accuses it of letting children gamble Robux on third-party casino sites, and of profiting from it. Here's the full story so far.
The case at a glance
- Name: Colvin et al. v. Roblox Corporation et al.
- Court: US District Court, Northern District of California (case 3:23-cv-04146)
- Judge: Vince Chhabria
- Filed: August 15, 2023
- Status (October 2026): ongoing, in discovery
Who's being sued
Two mothers, Rachelle Colvin and Danielle Sass, sued on behalf of their children. Besides Roblox, the suit names the companies behind three Robux gambling sites:
- RBXFlip: Satozuki Limited B.V.
- Bloxflip: Studs Entertainment Ltd.
- RBLXWild: RBLXWild Entertainment LLC
Some law firms' case pages also list Bloxmoon among the sites involved.
What the lawsuit claims
- The sites let users, including children, link their Roblox accounts and wager Robux on games like crash, coinflip and cases.
- The sites didn't verify age and weren't licensed for gambling in the US.
- Robux reached the casinos through Roblox's own systems, and Roblox kept a 30% cut when the sites converted Robux back into real money.
- Roblox knew or should have known this was happening and did nothing, while marketing itself as safe for kids.
Roblox's position is that it doesn't operate or control any third-party casino, and its rules already ban gambling with Robux.
What the judge has ruled
March 2024: first big ruling
Judge Chhabria threw out the racketeering (RICO) claims against Roblox, but let the negligence and California unfair competition claims go ahead. He wrote that Roblox had a duty to use reasonable care and not to put users at unreasonable risk.
September 2024: the amended complaint
After the parents refiled, the judge again let negligence claims and claims for money damages proceed against Roblox. He found it was foreseeable that young users would find their way to Robux casinos, and described Roblox as having created "a clearinghouse for illegal transactions" in a virtual playground. Requests for an injunction were dismissed.
December 2025: a gambling site's owner
The court rejected a motion to dismiss from the owner of RBLXWild, which has since shut down, so unfair competition claims against him go ahead too.
June 2026: deals with two gambling sites
A federal judge approved settlements in which the operators of two of the gambling websites agreed to hand over information for the wider case against Roblox. The terms reported don't include a payout to players.
Where it stands now
As of October 2026, the case is in discovery: both sides are exchanging evidence. No class has been certified and there's no settlement with Roblox, so there's nothing to claim yet. Be wary of sites telling you otherwise.
Separately, Roblox faces a large set of child-safety lawsuits that have been combined in federal court. Those are about grooming and exploitation, not gambling, and are a different case.
What it means if you play on Robux sites
- Sites can disappear fast. RBLXWild closed during the case. If a site shuts down, balances can be lost, so don't leave more on any site than you can afford to lose.
- Expect stricter checks. Legal pressure pushes sites toward age checks and identity verification, and pushes Roblox to crack down on Robux transfers.
- Under 18? Don't. This whole case is about minors gambling. Every gambling site is 18+.
- Never share your Roblox login or cookie. See free Robux scams.
